Tropical Storm 27P can be seen swirling southeastward between New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
Tropical Storm 27P formed just south of the Solomon Islands then brought beneficial rainfall to the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu as it weakened offshore.
Maximum sustained winds near the center of the disorganized storm reached 40 mph (65 km/h) as it peaked in intensity over the warm waters of the eastern Coral Sea.
Storm 27P was only a minimal threat to shipping across the region.
