More Than 100 Injured in Iran Quake May 2, 2008

A sharp earthquake striking just before dawn on Thursday injured more than 100 people in the western Iranian city of Boroujerd, according to state media.

Iranian TV said the moderate quake also jolted three other towns in Lorestan province at 4:45 a.m. local time, but the most damage and number of injuries were in Boroujerd.

Damage in that city was mainly confined to broken windows and cracked buildings.

Iran is situated on several fault lines and experiences at least one slight quake every day on average.
