Halong can be seen striking northern Luzon Island as a Category-1 typhoon on Sunday.
High winds and torrential rainfall killed at least 44 people as Typhoon Halong roared across the northern Philippines on Sunday.
Most of the fatalities occurred in the province of Pangasinan, 115 miles (180 km) north of Manila, where victims died after being struck by flying debris or being buried in collapsed structures.
The country’s national disaster agency said that the storm also swept away bridges and washed out roads, making recovery operations difficult.
Halong displaced more than a million people, destroyed tens of thousands of homes and caused $87 million in damage, according to preliminary estimates.
