Three Tropical Cyclones Churn Northeastern Pacific January 11, 2008
Tropical Storm Douglas forms off the Mexican coast as Cristina dissipates far to the west.
Boris briefly became the first named hurricane of the northeastern Pacific tropical cyclone season as it passed westward across the Pacific well off the Mexican coast.

The storm was mainly a threat to shipping lanes as it remained far from any significant land areas.

Tropical Storm Cristina churned the Pacific farther out to sea before eventually losing force on Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Douglas formed in the wake of both storms to the south of Baja California.
