Poorly organized Cristobal can be seen bringing heavy rain to the North Carolina coast.
The coast of North Carolina received beneficial rainfall from passing Tropical Storm Cristobal on Sunday.
Rain fell over a troublesome wildfire than had burned 41,000 acres (165 square km) in Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge since it was ignited by lightning on July 1.
Minor flooding was reported in Wilmington, N.C., which picked up 3.42” of rainfall (87 millimetres) — a record for the day.
The storm lost its tropical characteristics as it moved off the Atlantic seaboard of the United States, then brought locally heavy rain and gales to the Canadian Maritime provinces.
Cristobal later lost force over the waters of the North Atlantic.
