The eye of Fung-Wong can be seen approaching the eastern coast of Taiwan early Sunday.
Typhoon Fung-Wong struck Taiwan as a Category-2 storm before later moving ashore on mainland China’s Fujian province.
Two people were killed and six others were injured by strong winds and pounding rain on Taiwan.
At least 1,200 people were forced to evacuate their homes by the second such storm to strike the island within two weeks.
On the Chinese mainland, Fung-Wong destroyed thousands of acres of crops and destroyed 110 homes, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
Fung-Wong means "Phoenix" in China's Cantonese language.
