Quake Map of Bangladesh
A broad area of Bangladesh and neighboring parts of eastern India were jolted soundly by a 5.2 magnitude quake shortly after midnight on Sunday.

About 25 students at Dhaka University in the capital were injured when they jumped out of their dormitory rooms during the overnight shaking.

A meteorologist at Bangladesh's Storm Warning Center told reporters the quake occurred at 12:22 local time and was centered 70 miles (115 km) north of Dhaka at a depth of 3 miles (5 km).

The epicenter was placed beneath the district of Sylhet.

Officials said they had received no reports of significant damage or injuries other than those at the university.
