Snowcover can be seen in central Argentina, as well as clouds associated with the Antarctic cold front that brought it.
A bitterly cold snowstorm brought relief to a wide swath of central Argentina that until recently had been plagued by devastating wildfires sparked by the worst drought in more than 50 years.
If followed by springtime rains, the snow should help soil moisture recover over the next few months, according to agriculture officials.
Lack of rain has hampered efforts to plant wheat and other crops, and has also been responsible for the deaths or more than 400,000 head of livestock.
