

The U.S. Geological Survey determined that the 6.3 magnitude quake struck about 125 miles (200 km) southwest of the port of Manzanillo at 7:33 p.m. local time.
The epicenter was said to have been at a depth of only 6 miles (10 km).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a bulletin that warned of a potentially destructive tsunami within 60 miles (100 km) of the epicenter.
No such changes in sea level were detected, and there were no reports of damage or injuries in the affected area.
A separate quake near the Mexican resort of Acapulco earlier in the evening shocked tourists and prompted the evacuation of some buildings.
No damage was reported there as well.
