The faint clockwise circulation of Cyclone Bongani can be seen early in the animation sequence next to the bright cluster of clouds off northern Madagascar.
An area of disturbed weather over the western Indian Ocean contracted into tiny Cyclone Bongani early in the week.
The storm drenched the Seychelles and northern Madagascar before striking the Comoros Islands with storm-force winds and heavy showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Bongani was predicted to pass southwestward through the Mozambique Channel as a minimal tropical storm until eventually dissipating over cooler waters to the south.
