Cyclone Sean Forms over Eastern Indian Ocean April 30, 2010
Tropical storm-force Cyclone Sean can be seen weakening on Saturday between Australia and Java.
An area of disturbed weather between Australia’s northwest coast and the Indonesian island of Java intensified into Cyclone Sean on April 23.

It soon reached its maximum intensity, generating sustained winds of just over 50 mph as it churned the open waters of the far eastern Indian Ocean.

On Saturday, the storm began to encounter strong wind shear aloft that caused it to begin to weaken as its circulation became disrupted.

Sean eventually dissipated far from any land areas, a threat only to shipping lanes during its brief lifespan.
