The U.S. Geological Survey said the 4.4 magnitude quake occurred at 2:21 p.m. local time about 25 miles west of the capital at a depth of approximately 6 miles.
There were no reports of damage or injuries from the latest in a long series of aftershocks that have kept Portw-au-Prince on edge.
The government says that about 230,000 people perished when the catastrophic 7.0 initial jolt laid waste to many parts of southern Haiti.
