Tropical Storm Abele can be seen spinning clockwise across the Indian Ocean on Thursday morning.
Tropical Storm Abele coalesced from an area of disturbed weather spinning over the central Indian Ocean.

Maximum sustained winds reached only about 45 mph near the storm’s center before Abele began to dissipate far from land late in the week.

Abele was a threat only to shipping lanes during its two-day life span.
