Cyclone Atu Skirts Vanuatu February 25, 2011
The eye of Cyclone Atu can be seen wobbling southward just off the coast of Vanuatu on Monday.
The South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu escaped significant harm from passing Cyclone Atu.

The eye of Atu passed just east of the island chain as the storm was briefly reaching Category-4 strength.

Outer bands of Atu brought rain and thunderstorms as far away as Fiji and the Solomon Islands.

The storm later lost force as it encountered the colder waters of the South Pacific off New Zealand's northeastern coast.
