Arabian Sea Cyclone Drenches Western India June 17, 2011
A small eye can be seen briefly forming just northwest of Mumbai before 01A made landfall.
Tropical Storm 01A formed briefly over the Arabian Sea, just to the northwest of India's financial hub of Mumbai.

The rare tropical cyclone for the region brought heavy rainfall to the state of Gujarat and neighboring parts of Pakistan.

The IBN news channel reports that three consecutive days of heavy rain from 01A left two people dead in Gujarat.

Television images showed roads and markets in Veraval and Somnath knee deep in water.

Flooding was reported to have also damaged standing crops.
