Japan Quake Injures Seven August 5, 2011

Seven people in northeastern Japan sustained minor injuries when a 6.5 magnitude quake struck off the coast of Fukushima prefecture, the same region devastated by the March 11 massive quake and tsunami.

The country’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency said the temblor struck Sunday at 3:54 a.m. local time beneath the Pacific about 11 miles east-southeast of Iwaki.

The operators of the damaged Fukukshima nuclear power complex said the latest shaking caused no further damage to the facility.
