Hundreds of homes in northwest China’s Xinjiang region were damaged by a moderate quake that struck well before dawn on Nov. 1.

Officials said that more than 50 houses collapsed during the 5.4 magnitude shaking, which was centered along the border of Yining and Gongliu counties.

The official Xinhua news agency quoted the China Earthquake Administration as saying the quake was also felt in neighboring counties.

There were no reports of casualties due to the shaking, officials said.
