Christchurch Rocked by Fresh Quakes

New Zealand’s quake-weary city of Christchurch was rocked by a brief swarm of strong tremors, the strongest registering a magnitude of 5.5 while knocking out power.

The city and surrounding Canterbury region were rocked by two stronger quake two days before Christmas with magnitudes of 6.0 and 5.8.

The area is still recovering from a magnitude 6.3 quake that killed 182 people last February 22.
