
The eye of compact Cyclone Heidi made an almost direct hit on Port Hedland.
Offshore oil rigs were shuttered off Australia’s northwestern coast on Wednesday as high winds and pounding surf from Cyclone Heidi lashed the region.
The storm made landfall on Thursday near Port Hedland with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph.
