Cyclone Irina Lashes Madagascar and Mozambique March 9, 2012

Storm-force Cyclone Irina can be seen spinning away from the Mozambique capital of Maputo.
At leash 65 people on the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar perished in storm-related accidents associated with the passage of Cyclone Irina.

An additional eight died when high winds and flash floods from the storm’s outer bands lashed southern parts of Mozambique, in southeastern Africa.

Irina struck just two weeks after Cyclone Giovanna killed 35 and left 240,000 homeless in Madagascar.
