Sumatra's Most Active Volcano Spews Again June 1, 2012
Mount Marapi
Sumatra resident covers face to protect from ash being spewed by Mount Marapi.
Sumatra’s Mount Marapi spewed steam and ash twice on May 26, but there were no reports of damage or injuries due to the eruption.

Indonesian seismologists said the activity followed a string of 30 volcanic tremors earlier in the month.

Marapi shot a plume of sulfurous ash 3,000 feet into the sky last August 3.
