Hurricane Leslie Douses Bermuda September 14, 2012
Bermuda Radar Loop
The center of Leslie can be seen in this radar loop, swirling to the east of Bermuda on Sunday.
Hurricane Leslie weakened to tropical storm force before passing well to the east of Bermuda over the weekend.

Outer bands of the storm did produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds on the wealthy British overseas territory and global reinsurance center.

Leslie had earlier formed over the open waters of the Atlantic between the Cape Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles.

It attained hurricane force for only a brief period of time about midway between Puerto Rica and Bermuda during the previous week.

Remnants of the storm later doused Newfoundland, Iceland and parts of far Northern Europe.
