Former Category 4 Cyclone Narelle can be seen breaking apart while encountering cooler water off the Western Austalia coast on Monday.
Former Category 5 Cyclone Narelle remained well off the Western Australia coast as it moved southward over the Indian Ocean.
It had formed during the previous week just southeast of the Indonesian resort of Bali, then quickly intensified as it moved southwestward across open waters.
Alerts were briefly posted for remote stretches of the Western Australia coastline, but only high surf kicked up by the cyclone affected the region.
Narelle was a threat only to shipping lanes during its lifespan.
