CIMSS Satellite Loop
Cyclone Fundi can be seen weakening Sunday off Madagascar's southern tip.
Torrential rainfall from passing Cyclone Fundi left five people dead and 1,200 homes swamped in the southwestern Madagascar city of Toliara.

The storm formed rapidly from an area of disturbed weather over the Mozambique Channel then swirled over southern Madagascar on Saturday.

While the storm-force cyclone didn’t produce any significant wind gusts, its bands of heavy rains swamped several districts around Toliara as well as the heart of the city.
